SPEECH-LANGUAGE
Communication is the process of exchanging information and ideas through verbal and nonverbal means and involves both a speaker and a listener. Our role is to remediate communication problems within the educational environment. This requires the identification, assessment, evaluation, and planning of intervention for students with speech, language, and related impairments and disabilities.
Intervention strategies reflect a student's changing developmental and language needs and are consistent with current research and practice. The speech and language profession is dynamic and evolving. New areas of intervention are considered if they are based on valid and reliable scientific research and technological developments.
