Over the last few years, Saddle Rock has celebrated World Down Syndrome day with our students to spread awareness about this genetic disorder. To celebrate this special day, students have completed acts of kindness to promote Down Syndrome awareness. 5th graders also wrote inspirational words, pictures, and quotes on all of the sidewalks around the school building to "Chalk the Walk."
In addition, the Shared Decision Making committee highlighted WDSD by holding a Rock Your Socks spirit day! Students and staff wore different, brightly colored socks or any fun socks in honor of those with an extra chromosome. We can't wait to build awareness for Down Syndrome through acts of kindness!
