This year, as part of their service learning project, fourth grade students wrote encouraging letters and notes to patients at a pediatric cardiology office. After reading the book Mr. Peabody’s Apples in class, the students reflected on the power of words and the impact kindness can have on others. Students shared how meaningful it would be to receive uplifting messages while undergoing medical treatments. They then created heartfelt notes filled with encouragement, positivity, and care. The completed boxes were proudly donated to the Young Hearts program affiliated with St. Francis Hospital.
