Saddle Rock Spotted Reading Challenge

Clip art Kids jumping

We are thrilled to introduce our "Spotted Reading Challenge" for this summer! This fun and engaging activity is designed to inspire a love of reading in our students and to help them discover new books through their peers. Participation is optional but highly encouraged.

Here's how it works:

  1. Read Books: Encourage your child to read as many books as they can over the summer.
  2. Pick a Favorite: Have your child choose one book that they loved or was their favorite.
  3. Fill Out Our Digital Form: Click the link to complete the digital form we've provided. It includes:
    • A space to upload a picture of your child reading their chosen book.
    • A section for your child to write a brief review of the book.

Please email the completed forms to our Literacy Coordinator at jmoghadam@greatneck.k12.ny.us. Be sure to include your child's name and September grade level in the email.

These submissions will be transformed into slides and projected on our screens at the beginning of the school year. This will not only showcase the books our students enjoyed but also serve as a wonderful way for students to recommend books to each other.

We believe this challenge will create a community of young readers who are excited about books and eager to share their discoveries with friends.

Join the fun! Let’s make this summer a season of great reading adventures. We can’t wait to see all the wonderful books our students will explore and share.

Thank you for your support and participation.
