VOCAL MUSIC

4th and 5th Grade Chorus Information

Singing in a chorus is a rewarding experience that will improve the way one listens to music, help draw out one's musical ability, and intensify a love for singing. Students will build confidence, understand proper vocal techniques, learn to sight read, and above all, gain the ability to work together towards a group goal, beautiful music making. Students are strongly encouraged to join and experience this wonderful opportunity!

Chorus rehearsals are scheduled to be held during recess, once per cycle for altos and once for sopranos.  Each chorus member will be assigned to attend one of those rehearsal days to learn and practice the music.  Just prior to our concert, all chorus members will be required to attend both rehearsal days as part of a "full-chorus" rehearsal.  As a chorus member, they will also have the responsibility to practice, listen, and learn the music at home, in order to be fully prepared and ready at their next in-person rehearsal.  The chorus performs in both the winter and spring concerts.
